detect lab · fall residencies 2024
Between the end of September and the beginning of November, we will be holding four artist residencies at Ein Ding der Möglichkeit. Together with musicians and other participants from the Wendland region, we will also be organising the Kreativtage Musik (Music Creative Days) for young people from the region, as well as a Workshop Concert to present some results of the music residencies.
residency 01 · AFAR
The duo AFAR usually develops initial creative ideas for new albums between live sessions and breaks in unusual places in the countryside. Here, the two musicians detect the focus, inspiration and sounds that later find their way into their analogue electronic Krautwave.
During their residency in Wendland, they plan to develop material for a new album to be released in early 2025.

residency 02 · Orchester im Treppenhaus
What can classical music do today? The Orchester im Treppenhaus has been working on an expanded concept for concerts for many years. The multi-award-winning, 20-piece ensemble is a leading representative of the innovative classical music scene in Germany and Europe.
As part of its residency, the Orchester im Treppenhaus, together with the WasWennLand team, is hosting a workshop on ‘Involvement in Music Festivals".

residency 03 · Detect Ensemble x JakoJako
After the celebrated premiere of Detect Ensemble with JakoJako at the Detect Classic Festival 2024, the formation is a guest in Salderatzen. During their residency, the musicians will develop an album from their concert programme, which is characterised by long arcs of suspense and improvisation. After working on a joint composition process in Wendland, the next step will be to go to the studio.

residency 04 • Sophia Hegewald
Musician and photographer Sophia Hegewald has developed a new kind of photography in the classical music world. During her residency, she wants to explore the interplay between music and video. She will work with the other resident artists and create music videos with them. The main question here is how to develop an exciting new visual language in music videos.
