faq volunteering

Do you have questions about volunteering at the Detect Classic Festival? Then you will find the answers here.

We have six areas of responsibility for helpers:

Guards: You help our guests to find their way to the parking lot and the camping sites, support us at the entrance or control access to important areas of the festival.

Clean-Up: You make sure that the festival site is always nice and clean.

Kitchen: You support our caterer in providing our artists and crew with delicious meals during the festival.

Artist Care: You help us take care of artists in the green rooms and at the stages. This includes taking artists to their stage, carrying instruments, getting drinks and whatever else might be needed to ensure they have a lovely time at the festival.

Awareness: You support our awareness team in making the structures at our festival safer and more inclusive and in creating spaces where everyone feels comfortable.

Set Up & Pack Down: You’ll help us set up and/or pack down the festival infrastructure—such as the finizio toilets—on Thursday before and/or Monday after the festival.

Every volunteer will work two 5-hour shifts during the festival. In return, you will receive a full refund of the ticket price. You must purchase a standard festival ticket (€170.00); the refund will only be issued after the festival and only if you have completed both shifts. Snacks and drinks will be provided during your shift.

Different conditions apply to awareness staff. You can find out more about this in a personal conversation with the awareness team lead.

If you are unable to buy a standard festival ticket, this year we are also offering the option to purchase a social ticket for €140.

If possible, please be available for shifts between Thursday 6 August and Monday 10 August. There will be a briefing on Friday for everyone working during the festival.

Applications to become a volunteer must be submitted exclusively via the application form.

Yes, you have to buy a regular festival ticket (€170.00) to volunteer at our festival. We will only refund you the ticket price if you have completed your two shifts. This is how we ensure that volunteers reliably show up for their shifts.

Different conditions apply to awareness persons. You will find out more in a personal conversation with the awareness management.

If you are unable to buy a standard festival ticket, this year we are also offering the option to purchase a social ticket for €140.
