let’s all just focus for a moment, ok?
Every orchestra member, every student, and everyone in a meeting has heard a phrase like this before. Asking a concert audience to do so would be a bit cheeky – wouldn’t it? Guess what: We’re making ‘focus’ our festival theme for 2026 and invite you to dive in with us.
Focus is more than just concentration. It is the conscious decision to give your full attention to a theme, a sound, a person, a stage, a feeling. Focus is inner calm, meditation and the beginning of flow. And even if a singer or a conductor won’t ask you to focus, their gestures and breathing of the orchestra members, the tension in the room, and the spaces themselves create an atmosphere in which we naturally slip into a state of flow.

what is the detect classic festival?
The Detect Classic Festival is a space for experimentation and experience for all those who want to discover musical worlds and broaden their horizons. For one weekend, we explore classical and ambient, electronic and contemporary, avant-garde, beats, rhythm, room acoustics and blur the boundaries between club, open air and concert hall.
The Detect Classic Festival is a cooperation project between Detect Sounds and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
