The Detect Ensemble of the Detect Classic Festival creates a shared language that transcends sheet music and genre boundaries – each project is a process of approaching, translating and expanding musical experience. They operate at the intersection of contemporary music, classical music and jazz.
In collaborations with artists such as Roman Flügel, Christian Löffler, JakoJako and Acid Pauli, they create not merely combinations of electronic and ensemble sound, but experimental and complex soundscapes. Their music ranges from noise through fusion to minimal music and, through improvisation, weaves itself into colourful, at times surprisingly witty yet profoundly meaningful sonic journeys.
