history

Since 2015, the youth orchestra junge norddeutsche philharmonie (jnp) has been organising events in Berlin that can be considered the forerunners of the Detect Classic Festival. In 2018, the first 'real' festival took place at Funkhaus Europa.

Since 2019, the Detect Classic Festival has been a joint project of the jnp and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and has moved to the countryside. From the RWN site in Neubrandenburg (2019) it went to Trollenhagen airport (2021) during the pandemic to Schloss Bröllin in Fahrenwalde. Here, the festival organisers have found a festival home since 2022.

Since 2023, Detect has been a cooperation project between Detect Sounds gUG and Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern gGmbH. The festival remains closely connected to the jnp, and every year, musicians from the jnp or the entire orchestra come to Bröllin to play one or more concerts.
