It’s hard to believe that the first edition of «Between Mountains» started just 1.5 years ago! In this short period of time, we’ve already grown into a small festival family. A month ago, we gathered at the Holdenweid for the second time. Let’s take a moment to look back and a look ahead.

In our second year, we were able to spend 2.5 days together at the festival for the first time. This gave us the time and space for 28 concerts and roughly the same number of DJ sets, four discussion sessions with SRF, guided tours of the Holdenweid art installation, art installations and plenty of little discoveries.
With just under 800 paying visitors, we sold twice as many tickets than last year, and the feedback from our guests, supporters and the press was consistently positive. A special thank you goes out to our collectives – Garage and Schmusi Kollektiv – who, for the second year running, have created a truly special, intimate and creative festival atmosphere on their stages.
We’re grateful for the positive feedback and our growing festival community, and we’re already looking forward to the next edition of the festival!
However, the date and venue for 2027 haven’t been finalised yet…
farewell to holdenweid
The longer duration and increased number of guests meant well-attended concerts and packed dance floors, but also placed a greater strain on the residents of Holdenweid. Unfortunately, the team has decided against hosting another edition of Between Mountains on their site.
We regret that, after just two years, we now have to start looking for a new venue for Between Mountains. We are deeply grateful to the Holdenweid team for opening their hearts to us and sharing their incredibly beautiful and artistically designed venue with us over the past two years.
We have you to thank for the early days of Between Mountains!
what's next?
Between Mountains is definitely set to take place again in 2027! We are now officially on the lookout for a venue where both loud music and silence, moments on the dance floor and ensemble music can coexist.
