sogno · suono

In her solo programme sogno/suono for violin and voice, Ronja Sophie Putz weaves a delicate soundscape in which familiar and surprising sounds move as if through a corridor into an ever-expanding silence.

Through experimentation, improvisation and composition, RSP – driven by a fascination with discovering the distinct within the common (and vice versa) – has found a musical language that creates a space for permeability, synaesthetic associations and heightened sensitivity. The violin becomes an extension of the body; its sound, an extension of the voice. Acoustic illusions, subtle electronics and a violin modified with screws and vibrators – which performs at times with earth-shattering intensity, at others with almost inaudible delicacy and subtle humour – play with the listeners’ perception and open their ears to the borderland between sound and silence.
