A hollow tree trunk. Darkness, ground fog, light. ATRIUM SACRUM is an immersive spatial sculpture – a glimpse into the interior of something that is passing away and yet continues to live on. What appears to be dead wood from the outside becomes a glowing microcosm on the inside. Shaped by beetles, fungi and microorganisms – raw, mysterious, alive.
The installation is part of a long-term project on dead wood as a habitat and transition zone. Between becoming and passing away. Between nature and projection. Lieber Analog – Tom Kretschmer in cooperation with Martin Krause and Polydicso.
