Pianist Daniel Borovitzky, who lives in Basel, has won several international piano competitions and has worked as a soloist with renowned orchestras.
Daniel Borovitzky was born in Samara, Russia, in 1991 and emigrated to Israel with his family at the age of three. He has performed as a soloist with Zubin Mehta, the English Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Chamber Orchestra, the Israel Camerata Jerusalem, the Haifa Symphony Orchestra and the Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble. Since moving to Basel in 2018, he has performed at the Mizmorim Festival, the Swiss Chamber Concerts and the Yellow Barn Festival.
Borovitzky's competition successes include first prize at the Isidor Bajić Memorial Piano Competition in Serbia in 2012, a special prize for Israeli classical music at the Aviv Competitions in 2013, the Grand Prix Animato in Paris in 2014, the Clairmont Award in Tel Aviv in 2014 and qualification for the semi-finals of the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition in 2021.
His recordings with the Israeli Ensemble MultiPiano, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra have been released on the Naxos and Hyperion labels. He is currently preparing a recording of piano works by William Byrd and Maurice Emmanuel.
