Water Always Wins is an interactive visual journey through the water cycle, exploring the links between water grabbing, the climate crisis and the regeneration of our ecosystems – in Germany and around the world. In this brand-new graphic narrative by Klima*Kollektiv, the two illustrators, Otto Barboni and Bárbara Niño, have spent over a year weaving together hundreds of stories from Germany and around the world: In this vast black-and-white hidden-object picture, we can discover how dozens of animals – such as beavers, bitterling, black storks and freshwater polyps – are fighting in the air, in the water and underground to protect our water: against pollution and water grabbing by mechanical black snakes, against massive dams and the commodification of our water.

Water Always Wins takes you on a journey through the water cycle, from the magical origins of water to the hidden water in plants and soils, to menacing, isolated water towers and inspiring stories of regeneration – from a city made of sponges to watershed democracy and plants such as the mighty poplar. Because, in the end, water always wins!
