Driven by a deep curiosity about the connection between sound, science and consciousness, Robot Koch creates cinematic soundscapes that transcend traditional genre boundaries, blending electronic, ambient and modern classical elements into immersive listening experiences.
He is also realising his artistic vision in his current collaboration with the Detect Ensemble: during a residency last year, Robot Koch and the Detect Ensemble developed new material. The combination of Koch’s cinematic electronic sound with the ensemble’s expressive acoustic textures creates a tension between ambient electronica, contemporary classical music and immersive sound experiences.
At the Between Mountains Festival, Robot Koch and the Detect Ensemble will present this new work live for the first time. The performance will feature music from Koch’s upcoming album in a special ensemble arrangement that expands the sonic range of the recordings into a unique concert experience.
