Concert @ detect classic festival 2025

August 10, 2025

Pianist Nina Gurol captivates audiences with her 'ravishingly soft, almost melting touch – entirely in the tradition of Claudio Arrau' (WZ).

Trained at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with Gesa Lücker and influenced by her collaboration with Tamara Stefanovich, Maria João Pires and Pierre-Laurent Aimard, she shapes her programmes from a broad repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music. In long-standing collaborations with composers such as York Höller and Vassos Nicolaou, she explores musical connections between tradition and modernity. Her original programmes have been heard at the Beethovenfest Bonn, the Klavierfestival Ruhr, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and the Guotai Arts Centre in Chongqing, among others. In 2022, she received the international ‘HUGO’ award for innovative concert formats and was a finalist for the Berlin Prize for Young Artists.

In addition to her passion for contemporary music, Nina Gurol is also deeply interested in the intersection of music, death and mourning. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in systematic musicology at the HfM Karlsruhe.
