Kate Lim is a Zurich-based sound artist whose work grows out of a life lived between two cultures; an upbringing that taught her to notice the subtle in-between spaces, the gestures that carry more than words, and the sounds that hold memory and belonging. She came to sound art in 2021, and it quickly became her primary way of experiencing and interpreting the world.
Moving between live performance, composition, and field recording, she draws on nature, cultural memory, and the textures of everyday life to create work that is dark, atmospheric, and immersive. In electronic music, she has found a world where voice and guitar let her carry message through song, folded into glitchy textures and pulsing beats until the line between them disappears.
