Lena Winters is an artist from Belgium’s German-speaking community who has made Berlin her home. In her interdisciplinary practice, she explores boundaries – between people, disciplines and public space. She is interested in places of encounter and in how art can make beauty, participation and a sense of community newly tangible in everyday urban life.
Her work combines painting, performance, costume and stage design, as well as site-specific interventions. Through large-scale paintings, performative formats and participatory projects, she creates situations that spark dialogue and bring people into relation with one another.
Colour becomes a driving force in this process – as a form of expression, an intervention and an invitation to experience social processes in a direct and immediate way.
