F.S.Blumm produces, writes film music, gives concerts, paints pictures and develops live radio plays. In everything he does, he tries to stay true to himself. On stage, he speaks a direct, personal language and creates an intimate concert experience.
Blumm, who was once praised by Pitchfork for his "damn charming music", has been an endlessly inventive member of the German musical underground since his 1998 debut album "Esst Obst!". He has long been known for his prolific output, which includes several releases with Nils Frahm as well as recordings with David Grubbs and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Blumm has been honoured with prestigious awards as a producer of radio plays, among other things.
On his new album "Torre", he returns in some ways to his roots as a classically trained guitarist and expands the style of earlier records - especially "Summer Kling", released in 2006 - by arranging these compositions for what he describes as instrumental "chamber pop" or, more romantically, as "music to stare into the distance".
