Video artist Jonathan Steffens and guitarist Reto Weiche come together for a joint audiovisual project. The starting point for their work is Alvin Lucier's composition In Memorian Jon Higgens, in which acoustic interference is created by superimposing two sound frequencies.
Driven by a shared fascination for this acoustic phenomenon, the artists are working on a programme in which video and sound tracks are superimposed in such a way that a third level is created in each case. A central component of the work is that image and music generate each other by means of transformation logarithms, instead of just being opposite each other. The concert installation has so far been shown at Kunstraum Stuttgart, BLECH Raum für Kunst Halle and at the SonicVisions Festival.
