„News from Inside“ is a truly immersive sound performance. The audience gradually discovers how the smallest units of sound aesthetics evolve, culminating in a rave-like gathering. It's a concert experience that becomes unique in special locations. Premiering amidst old gas tanks at the Zollverein colliery in Essen, Germany, the six performers draw inspiration from these massive steel structures, integrating them into places influenced by this memory.
With shimmering drone sounds, techno electronics, strings, and lively brass, all emerging from deep introspection, they transform the environment into resonating objects. As performers, they are both explorers of this sonic landscape and conveyors of the core idea: collective creative discovery. Berlin-based composer and producer Konstantin Heuer joins the ensemble as a guest performer, contributing fragments that blend improvisational music with choreography. Through vocals, violin, clarinet, and double bass, they present maximal sonic diversity, anticipated, complemented, and commented on by objects equipped with transducers. The boundaries between interior and exterior continuously redefine themselves.
